Alcohol Awareness/Sam Spady Week

Pictures from Sigma Pi's 2006 ACE Project: Sam Spady/Alcohol Awareness Week have been uploaded. Please visit the various event pages (linked on the bar above) for links to the pictures.
In September of 2004, a girl by the name of Sam Spady began her freshman year of college at Colorado State University. One night in September, Sam had been drinking heavily at a party before she arrived at the Sigma Pi Chapter House where she had many friends. When the brothers there saw the condition that Sam was in, they put her in a quiet bedroom to allow her to go to sleep. The following morning, Sam was found dead of alcohol poisoning.

Sigma Pi Fraternity, International asks that all of its chapters do an ACE Project each year. The Altruistic Campus Experience Project was created as method for Sigma Pi brothers to give back to their college. In the past, Monmouth University's Sigma Pi brothers have assisted Facilities Management to paint handicapped curbs around campus. In addition, the brothers hosted a faculty appreciation dinner. This year, the brothers are hosting a week-long string of alcohol awareness events in honor of Sam Spady. These events will help the entire Monmouth University student body and hopefully prevent another tragedy.
